How to protect land with DyClaim

Protect your first chunk with DyClaim

DyClaim is a Minecraft land claim plugin. Players claim chunks to protect their builds. Start with a test area before opening claiming to your whole server.

1. Choose the right download

Open the DyClaim download page and select your Minecraft version and server platform. Use the standard package for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper or Purpur. Use the Folia package for Folia. Install only one package on each server.

Check the compatibility and notes for the exact release on the versions page. Use the Java runtime required by your Minecraft server; a plugin targeting Java 17 bytecode does not mean every supported server can run on Java 17.

2. Install or upgrade

  1. Stop the Minecraft server.
  2. Back up your world and the complete plugins/DyClaim folder if it already exists.
  3. Place the selected DyClaim JAR in the server's plugins directory. Remove the old DyClaim JAR when upgrading so two versions are not loaded together.
  4. Start the server normally and check the startup log for errors.

Keep existing claim data and configuration when upgrading. Read the release's upgrade notes before replacing files.

3. Claim a test chunk

Join the server, stand in the chunk you want to protect and run /claim. Test the protection with a second player account that does not have administrative bypass permissions before opening the server to players.

Optional economy features require Vault and a compatible economy provider. Configure those dependencies before enabling economy features.

Help and shortcuts in 1.0.4

Use /claim help [page] for help in pages of eight commands. /dyc is a shortcut for /claim; /cltp <number|name> teleports to a claim with the dyclaim.teleport permission (granted by default). Administrators with dyclaim.admin can use /dyca, for example /dyca reload. Custom messages remain unchanged; untouched messages adopt the new wording automatically.

Need help?

Check the startup log and confirm that the installed package matches your server platform. When asking for help, include your Minecraft version, server platform, DyClaim version and the relevant error. Remove passwords, tokens and private information from logs.
