How to connect Minecraft and Discord with DyDiscord
Connect Minecraft and Discord with DyDiscord
DyDiscord connects your Minecraft server with your Discord community. You need your own Discord application and bot, plus permission to configure the Minecraft and Discord servers.
1. Choose one package
Open DyDiscord, select a compatible Minecraft version and server platform, and check the release notes.
- Small downloads required libraries on its first startup.
- Standalone includes those libraries.
Both packages provide the same features. Install only one. Listed platforms include Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur. Use the Java runtime required by your server.
2. Install the plugin
- Stop the Minecraft server.
- Back up the complete
plugins/DyDiscordfolder if it exists. - Place your selected JAR in
pluginsand remove the previous DyDiscord JAR when upgrading. - Start the server to generate its files and check the log.
3. Configure your Discord bot
Create your application and bot through the Discord Developer Portal. Configure the bot token using the plugin's local configuration file or environment settings. Treat the token like a password: never publish it, commit it to GitHub or include it in a screenshot or support log.
Keep account-linking and chat channels separate. Grant the bot only the permissions required by the features you enable. Review the generated configuration for the selected release instead of copying settings from an unrelated plugin.
4. Test linking and diagnose problems
Use /dyda doctor to diagnose the setup. Players begin linking with /dydiscord link. Test with a regular player account and check the intended Discord channels before inviting the whole community to use the integration.
Need help?
